Bond to expand Bannock County jail proposed

The Bannock County Commission reached a decision Wednesday to propose a bond to expand the Bannock County Jail.

Members of the commission opened the floor for discussion on the major problem the Bannock County Jail is facing, which is overcrowding. The bond would build and renovate the existing jail.

The commission plans on holding public hearings to educate the community on the bond. The bond would appear on this November’s ballot.
