Preparations for the Eastern Idaho State Fair are well underway.
Fair organizers say they are excited to introduce the new fair mascot, Happy. This year’s theme is “Find your happy at the Eastern Idaho State Fair.”
They’re expecting 220,000 people to attend this year. Fair organizers say with a crowd that big, they need a lot of help.
“I’m always amazed by how many great people come to the fair to help make it possible,” said fair manager Brandon Bird. “We probably get closer to 5,000 people who have a hand in making the fair great.”
Opening day is Saturday. The fair runs through Sept. 12.
