Boise International Market fire destroys businesses

Vendors at the Boise International Market are grappling with the aftermath of a fire that destroyed nearly 20 businesses, many of which are refugee-owned..

Boise Fire Department spokeswoman Tammy Barry says the Saturday night fire was an accident and likely started in a trash can.

Lori Porreca and Miguel Gaddi own the market, which had a grand opening in April.

Thara Rita lost all of the clothes she made to sell at Thara Fashion, and Kahve Coffee owner Omid Mousa says he hopes to rebuild.

Ryan Hansen runs JBR’s BBQ and is a member of the Vendor Council that is working to feed business owners while the many who had insurance file claims.

A GoFundMe page has collected over $13,000 in support for vendors.
