Mail processing center closure impacting thousands

Many residents in the southeastern part of Idaho have been impacted by the closure since April 2015. It means delayed mail for a lot of residents. Bills, medication, and 2016 Presidential election ballots are all affected by this and can be part of the big delay.

Fortunately, Mayor Brian Blad will join Mayor Kevin England of Chubbuck in Washington D.C. this month to visit with officials. Once there they hope to resolve this problem once and for all, and get Pocatello’s Mail Processing Center back up to normal by the end of 2015.

“Sometimes you see it in three days. Most people experience it in 7-10 days of mail delivery service. Some are experiencing 30-40 days for people to get their mail,” said Mayor Blad.

If you like to tell your story of delayed mail service experiences you can share it at www.oldtownpocatello.com. The deadline for forms is October 24.
