Passenger killed in rollover crash on I-15

The Bannock County Sheriff’s Office and Idaho State Police are investigating a crash on I-15 near mile marker 55.4 just south of Inkom Wednesday night around 11:30 p.m.

The driver, 25 year-old Talysha Wing of West Valley, Utah was driving a 2003 GMC pickup pulling a 30 foot trailer when police say she fell asleep at the wheel.

She was driving north on I-15 when she woke she over-corrected and steering into the median and across the highway and blocked the southbound lanes.

Wing was wearing a seatbelt, her two-month old baby was in a car seat but was not buckled in.

Both were taken by ground ambulance to Portneuf Medical Center

The passenger, 38 year-old Michael Havens was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene.
