Small bear visits Jackson Hole schools
Teachers kept a close eye on arriving students Thursday morning after employees in the Teton County School District office noticed a small bear wandering through the fenced Jackson Hole High School football stadium.
The bear was spotted at around 7:30 a.m. and Wyoming Game and Fish personnel were notified.
District spokesperson Charlotte Reynolds said school was not in session and the bear was never near students. Teachers did keep students inside at Colter Elementary and Jackson Hole Middle School while the bear was captured.
It was relocated to a more suitable place by around 8 a.m.
“It was a good reminder of the special place we live,” said Reynolds.
