Edahow Elementary kicks off WATCH D.O.G.S

Edahow Elementary is inviting fathers of students to get involved.

That’s in the classroom, helping with lessons and other activities.

Tonight (Tues.), Edahow is inviting Dads from the community with children who attend Edahow or other schools, for pizza – kicking off the involvement program. The event will be held in the auditorium at 6p.m.

The volunteer event is designed to get fathers more involved with their children at school as well as helping other students, staff, and teachers. It’s a program that started Arkansas at George Elementary in 1998. Since then, the program has expanded to more than 4,704 schools in 46 states and other countries.

“We’re just excited anytime we can get parents into our school – whether it’s our mothers or fathers or grandparents, family members, because research shows that involvement helps them develop as children and as learners,” said Principal of Edahow Elementary, Nick Muckerman.
