Walmart burglars caught in Ammon
UPDATE 7:15 p.m.: The man has been identified as Johnny Cox.
A couple involved with a string of burglaries in the area were caught at the Ammon Walmart Saturday.
Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office responded to the call. The couple shoplifted camping supplies from the west side Walmart and were attempting to take 2 carts full of camping supplies from the Ammon location. Once deputies were able to restrain the woman her husband turned himself in. He claims that his wife had nothing to do with the burglaries.
The man has been booked into Bonneville County Jail, with 2 counts of burglary. There was not enough evidence against his wife to arrest her, although she is under investigation. Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office will determine her involvement with the shoplifting after viewing security footage.
