How to prepare your home for Winter
With the big weather changes it’s time to start preparing for those sometimes nasty winter storms.
Justin Rees Cabela’s product training specialist, said, “Here in Idaho the weather changes so drastically it’s important for you to have a way to keep warm and a way to keep dry.”
“For emergency preparedness this time of year it’s really important to have food storage it’s also really helpful to have a heat source,” he said.
Rusty Kapple, owner of The Preparedness Store, said, “Emergency water, emergency food, light, communications, the ability to attract attention to you so a whistle those type things.”
New products make emergency preparedness an easy task.
“Have those items at home so you didn’t feel like you need to leave your home to fight through the masses in the store. Or in some cases have to go back out in the weather and horrible road conditions to get what you need,” Kapple said.
So in case of emergency, “Stay off the roads. Stay home.”
The Preparedness Store said to have at least two weeks worth of food in case a storm isolates you.
