Pocatello Police investigate threat at Highland High School
Pocatello Police are investigating a student who made a threat indicating there was a bomb at Highland High School.
Police were called to a “suspicious circumstance” on a school bus at Highland High School shortly after 4 p.m. Wednesday. Even though it was after school hours, the District 25 school district ordered a lockdown of the high school and police set up a perimeter around the building to ensure the safety of students and staff.
No explosive device was found in a back pack located at the scene.
The boy who made the alleged threat told police it was just a joke. But, police spokesperson Dianne Brush said, “he made a threat and it had to be taken seriously.”
Detectives will determine if additional charges will be filed.
