Two killed in accidents while riding snow machines

The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office reports that two people were killed Tuesday in separate snow machine accidents.

On January 26th 2016 at around 1:30 p.m. the Fremont County Sheriff’s office and Island Park Ambulance Madison ALS responded to a snow machine accident in the Baker Draw area of Island Park. 79-year-old Jack Doxey of North Ogden Utah was snow machining and missed a curve and hit a tree. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. He later died from injuries sustained in the crash.

A second snow machine accident happened around 10:45 p.m. in the Island Park area on the trail from Elk Creek to Ponds Lodge. The Fremont County Sheriff’s office, Island Park Ambulance and the Madison ALS and ISP responded to this accident. 31-year-old Blaine W. Jarvis of Manitoba Canada had been riding with a group back to their cabin and had become separated from them and hit a tree. Jarvis was found unresponsive and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Fremont County Sheriff’s office encourages all people to be very careful while snow machining.
