2 incidents lead to drug arrests near American Falls
Three people were arrested on the interstate in the American Falls area on drug-related charges Wednesday.
At around 9 a.m., Idaho State Police stopped a Dodge Neon for a routine traffic violation on Interstate 86 at milepost 28. Troopers found about 6.3 pounds of marijuana and 8.4 grams of cocaine in the car. In total, $30,000 worth of illegal drugs was seized. The driver, Joseph A. Bohan, 20, and the passenger, Kelci R. Reynolds, 18, both of Red Lodge, Mont., were arrested. Bohan and Reynolds both received felony charges for drug trafficking.
At around 1 p.m., troopers stopped a white Chevrolet van for a routine traffic violation on I-86 at milepost 29. During the investigation, approximately a half-pound of marijuana was discovered in the vehicle. The driver, Kenneth Ibsen, 49, of Soldotna, Alaska, was arrested. Ibsen was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance. The marijuana seized has a street value of about $2,000.
State troopers were helped by the Power County Sheriff’s Office in both cases.
