Spring into allergy season
While many people are happy to see spring arrive, seasonal allergies for millions of Americans have kicked in.
According to the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology more than 60million Americans suffer from allergies.
Common symptoms are; itchy eyes, runny nose, congestion and headache.
Idaho Allergy and Asthma specialist Dr. Gene Petty said this is the time of year where more people show symptoms.
“Springtime is as you say a double-edged sword, finally we get some warm weather along with that wind and along with springtime pollen,” Petty said.
Petty recommends over the counter medicines that will help alleviate symptoms.
“Nasacourt and Flonase are both now available over the counter and can be added to antihistamines,” Petty said.
He also recommends keeping doors and windows closed during windstorms.
