Two men arrested on Rexburg drug charges

A traffic stop led to the arrest of two men on South 5th West in Rexburg Tuesday.

Rexburg Police said they stopped a vehicle because it had no front license plate. After investigation, Anthony Weaver, 23, was arrested for driving with a suspended drivers license and possession of a controlled substance, heroin.

Further investigation led to the arrest of 19-year-old Joel Campos of Idaho Falls a short time later. Police Captain Randy Lewis said Campos was found on foot and charged with possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and resisting and obstructing police officers. According to reports, officers recovered a meth pipe Campos had attempted to hide from police.

Both men were being held in the Madison County Jail.
