Tourist season expected to increase

Tourist season is almost here.

Last year, Yellowstone National Park saw a record-breaking season for visitors, and that really gave the local economy a boost. This year, it’s expected to be even better.

Eastern Idaho is a gateway to the national parks, but a lot of people said there needs to be a focus on what eastern Idaho has to offer as well.

“We’re hopeful that as folks come through to do their vacation through the summer, that they really see the beauty of the area and want to consider coming and working and living here,” the director of REDI Jan Rogers said.
