New Yellowstone Corridor master plan seeks public input
The Bannock Transportation Planning Organization and the Idaho Transportation Department are updating the master plan for Pocatello and Chubbuck’s Yellowstone Corridor– and they’re asking for the community’s opinion before moving forward.
At Pocatello City Hall on Tuesday, the BTPO held an open house to get people’s opinions in-person. There people could put their suggestions and comments directly on the map, so staff on-hand would be able to see exactly where and how someone would like to change a spot.
Since the last master plan was done in 2003, public involvement manager Andrea Gumm said it’s time to meet the needs of today’s Pocatello/Chubbuck community.
“A lot of the things that were identified in that plan in terms of improvements have been completed, so it’s time to go back and look at it now and plan for the next 20 to 30 years,” Gumm said.
Even if you missed the open house, you can still get your voice heard. The BTPO set up an interactive map on this website so you can still share what you’d like to see done and where.
Comments will be taken until May 20.
