Young performers prepare benefit concert for children of plane crash victims
The community has not forgotten the children of the two sets of parents killed in that tragic Palisades plane crash earlier this year. The young performing group “S.O.S. New Generation” will hold a benefit concert for the Anderson and Summers children on Monday, May 9. The young singers and dancers say this performance has special meaning to them.
“When I do the benefit concerts it means a lot to me because I get to help other people,” Mylee Graham said.
“One of the families — they were my really good friends and their parents died in the plane crash, so it makes me really happy that I’m helping them out,” Livvie Thompson said.
“If we can help them in any way I want to do that because I can’t imagine what it feels like to lose your parents,”Grace Manwaring said.
“I just love the feeling I get when I sing and I hope I can move others also,” Ashlyn Allen said.
“It’s kind of nice to know you’re helping other people out that are really in need of help,” Parker Larsen said.
“These kids are so amazing. They’re so supportive of these two families and we’re just excited to show you what we got,” Christina Christensen, one of the group’s directors said.
The performance is Monday at 7 at the Colonial Theater. Tickets are $6 and are available through the Arts Council at 208-522-0471 or at the IFAC Box Office at 498 A Street.
