Pocatello animal shelter using new system for adoption
The Pocatello animal shelter rolled out a new adoption system and Mayor Brian Blad’s family was the first to try it.
The new software called Shelter Buddy makes the adoption process faster. In the past, the animal’s history had to be re-written from its kennel card to adoption papers for the owner.
Now with just a few clicks the information is quickly handed over in a fraction of the time.
“We can now talk more about how to be successful as a new pet owner, what things to look out for, illnesses, things like that,” animal services director Richard Stewart said.
The system came free of charge and will be fully launched Thursday.
