Museum of Rexburg reopens
The Museum of Rexburg reopened Saturday after being closed for six months. The museum hosted a public open house event that afternoon.
Formerly known as the Teton Flood Museum, it had many new exhibits added. The museum had a lot of hidden artifacts in storage, and it took a while to go through all of them. Pieces about the Teton Dam Flood, local wildlife, and Rexburg historical pieces were added.
The museum will still be in active stages of renovating their displays, but these renovations could not have been done without the help of many volunteers.
“We’ve had a handful of an hour here, hour there kind of volunteers that have made a difference also, but we are hoping to get more volunteers so we can fulfill the hours that we’re hoping to be open. That’s the only way we can do this,” said museum curator Jackie Rawlins.
