Original story: Firefighters are responding to a fire at the I-Pull wrecking yard on St. Leon in Idaho Falls.
Idaho Falls Firefighters are at the scene. First responders say the fire is a construction-related fire.
According to Jonathon Barron, a sales manager at I-Pull, the fire started in their prep center where they prepare junk cars for their parts. Barron says its possible that a stray spark from the work being done there could have started the fire. He also says a lot of gasoline is also kept in the building.
Five employees were working in the area when the fire started but they all got out safely and no injuries have been reported. Paramedics did monitor one person for heat exhaustion. The man had been going back and forth to move cars to safety and was repeatedly exposed to the heat of the fire. The fire is contained at this time.
Barron tells our reporter that, “A lot of money in spare parts has likely been lost.”
The Idaho Falls Fire Department and the Bonneville County Sheriff’s office are investigating the cause of the fire.
