One man flown to the hospital after an accident near Soda Springs

Idaho State Police are investigating atwo-vehicle injury crash near Soda Springs, Friday evening.

ISP says at approximately 2:12 p.m., a two-vehicle, injury crash happened on eastbound US-30, two miles west of Soda Springs.

Michael Taylor, 55, of Rigby, was eastbound on US-30 in a 2012 Dodge Ram pickup. Brandon Hansen, 29, of Pocatello, was westbound on US-30 in a 2012 Volvo semi pulling a single trailer.

ISP says The Dodge crossed into the westbound lanes and struck the Volvo. The Dodge rolled and came to rest off the right shoulder. Hansen pulled his vehicle over to the right shoulder.

Taylor was not wearing a seatbelt. He was transported to Caribou Memorial Hospital in Soda Springs by ground ambulance and then to Portneuf Regional Medical Center in Pocatello by air ambulance.

Hansen was wearing his seatbelt and was not transported. All lanes were blocked for approximately one hour and there was partial blockage for an additional two hours.

The Idaho State Police were assisted by the Caribou County Sheriff’s Office, Caribou County Fire Department and EMS. The crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
