Pursuit ends in canal
Bonneville County deputies were searching for a possible stolen pickup truck Tuesday night. When deputies spotted the pickup, the driver took off and deputies lost the Dodge pickup.
Jefferson County deputies found the truck in Lewisville and chased it toward Ririe. The driver led law enforcement around the Ririe area and at times the driver swerved at oncoming deputies. The chase headed toward Madison County and the Archer area and returned to Ririe.
Bonneville County deputies laid down spikes near the Ririe Maverik store intersection and the truck hit the spikes. The driver lost control while trying to turn along a canal. The truck flipped over and ended up in the canal.
According to a Bonneville County deputy, the driver was not breathing and unconscious. Deputies started CPR and got him breathing again. He was then taken to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls by ambulance.
Detective Sam Tower from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office says “Deputies entered the canal and were able to retrieve the suspect from the vehicle. It was confirmed at this time that the suspect was Marshal Hendricks. Hendricks was taken into custody by the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office, and will face charges there.”
Hendricks will also be charged with vehicular assault on an officer and felony eluding in Jefferson County. It is likely that he will also face charges in Madison county as well. He faces possible charges inBonneville County as well.
Idaho State Police, Bonneville County, Jefferson County, Madison County, Central Fire and Bonneville County Ambulance were all involved at one point.
