Blue Lake fire near Ennis is now 45 percent contained
The Blue Lake fire, burning approximately 10 miles southwest of Ennis, Montana is now estimated at 629 acres.
The lightning caused fire is 45 percent contained and burning in sage, grass and heavy timber.
A spot fire on the southern perimeter of the fire was fully contained and the east flank mopped up.
Air crews are standing by to help with water drops if needed.
There are no road or area closures in place for the Blue Lake Fire, but crews are still conducting operations in the area.
Two hand crews and two engines are staffing the fire.
Smoke from active islands of fuel within the fire lines may be visible from both the Madison and Ruby Valleys.
