Giant bison skull greets visitors at Pocatello Regional Airport
The Pocatello Regional Airport has mounted a new display to greet visitors. It is a Giant Bison skull, loaned to the airport by the Idaho Museum of Natural History.
The roughly 7 foot wide exhibit is located near the baggage claim and includes information about the ancient animal.
It originally roamed the Snake River Plain more than 100,000 years ago.
“This skull was found in the 1950s along the shore of American Falls Reservoir,” said Dr. Leif Tapanila, Idaho Museum of Natural History Director. “In fact, this is one of the best preserved specimens in the world.”
