Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office opens Ammon field office

The Bonneville County sheriff’s field office in Ammon is up and running.

Monday was an open house and the ribbon cutting.

The whole point of this new office is to help cut down response times.

This location was picked to be closer to the east side of the county. This is the part of the county that continues to grow. The sheriff’s office says most of its calls are out of that area.

“About 80 percent of our calls that are on the east side of the county where it’s heavily developed,” Lt. Kevin Casper said. “This position us really close to a center position where we want to be to service that side of it. It also positions us to serve the eastern part of the county, as Bonneville is a large county it runs all the way to Alpine, Wyoming.”
