Bear World denied request to create off-ramp
Update 8/19/2016: The Rexburg Chamber of Commerce is stepping forward to support Bear World in their fight to keep direct access to their park from U.S. Highway 20.
In a letter today to the Madison County Commissioners, the Chamber asked them to give new attention to the issue Bear World is facing. The Chamber writes that Bear World is a vital contributor to the county economy, providing $9 million in revenue in the county and seasonal payroll in excess of $750,000.

Original Story: Bear World is fighting again to keep a direct access to their park off U.S. Highway 20.
Courtney Ferguson, Bear World manager, asked the Idaho Transportation Board to construct an off-ramp at the intersection at 4300 West.
The board voted no to the request.
They’re reasoning was because they already have approved the plan that is in place with the Thornton interchange.
The Thornton interchange is under construction and once it is completed in October then 4300 West would be closed.
The State Transportation Board held its monthly meeting at the Idaho Transportation office in Rigby.
