Rexburg fills street cracks
Along with major construction projects across Rexburg, the city is also making road improvements by slurry sealing road cracks.
A slurry seal is the application of a mixture of water, asphalt emulsion, aggregate crushed rock, and additives to an existing asphalt pavement surface.
Rexburg city engineer Keith Davidson said it helps increase the longevity of the street by sealing the street so water doesn’t get into the base.
“We can get the water to the curb and gutter and get it away from the base. That will help maintain the streets,” Davidson said.
Davidson also said it’s important that the city preserves and maintains its streets for safety reasons.
The city just recently sealed 2nd North to 2nd East near Madison Junior High.
