Jet skiiers safe after overturning in Snake River
Four people escaped injury when the jet skis they were riding overturned in the Snake River above John’s Hole Bridge in Idaho Falls.
The Bonneville County Sheriff’s office said it received a call at around 2 p.m. from someone who saw a jet ski with no rider floating in the water near Freeman Park.
Two men, one aged 80 and another aged 52, were on jet skis. They advised deputies that two juvenile girls were unaccounted for.
One of the men said he had experienced a mechanical problem and was pulled into the diversion dam upstream from University Place. While attempting to help each other, both jet skis overturned and caused all of the riders to fall into the water.
Both of the girls were able to climb out of the water and were checked by Idaho Falls Ambulance personnel and released.
All of the riders were from Rexburg.
