A few families evacuated from their homes in the Birch Creek area in Ririe, one couple is crediting their safety to the farmers and firefighters nearby. A group of farmers is helping people out in Ririe to save their crops and cattle.

“[we] got a call that it was headed to the house and we needed to evacuate,” said Linda Sharp. “it was like a myriad of angels was here”. Sharp said many people came and loaded their cattle and their things in to several trailers while they were evacuating.

Linda and her husband Bruce moved their things to the LDS Church parking lot in Ririe next to the high school. “it was chaos, uncontrolled, but it worked,” said Bruce when he recounted the moments they evacuated out of the house.

Several families in the Birch Creek and Antelope Creek areas evacuated Monday night, and some chose to stay. The Sharps feel thankful for the support they’ve received from local farmers and firefighters.
