Air quality cautions lifted in Bonneville County
The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality is lifting an air quality forecast and caution for Bonneville County. According to DEQ, the county’s air quality is currently in the “Good” category and is forecast to range from good to moderate within the affected area.
When air quality is “moderate”, air quality is acceptable, but people who are unusually sensitive to air pollution may experience health impacts and should consider reducing prolonged or heavy exertion.
However, due to the impact of wildfire smoke, DEQ has extended an air quality forecast and caution for Teton and Custer Counties.
Air quality is currently in the “good” category, but is forecast to range from unhealthy to good for sensitive people within the area. The caution will continue through the weekend.
When air quality is unhealthy for sensitive groups, sensitive persons may experience health effects and should limit prolonged or heavy exertion and limit time spent outdoors. The general public is unlikely to be affected.
Sensitive groups include those with heart and lung disease, older adults, and children.
