Take a trip to the lavender farm
A hidden gem in Saint Anthony is the Teton View Lavender Farm. Its peak season is during the month of July but visitors can get their fix of lavender scents year around. A gift shop offers body oils, soaps, room scents, closet sachets, tea and lavender bundles.
The specialty lavender farm is located on 317 Teton Hwy, St Anthony, ID 83445.
The farm grows twelve different varieties and have over 2500 plants. Guests can come pick their own bundles of lavender for $5 during peak seasons.
Tom Howell and his wife co-own the farm. Tom was stationed in Europe and he, along with his wife, were inspired by the lavender fields they saw in Provence, France.
When the couple made their way back to Idaho, they brought back the dream of owning their own lavender farm.
They started their first farm in a rural location but ended up relocating it to another area that was eye catching for travelers.
“We found that area is very similar to Idaho in the summer time anyway. So it’s very dry and lots of nice sun. But their winters aren’t as cold as ours,” Howell said.
The Teton View Lavender Farm attracts hundreds of tourists as well as locals each year.
The gift shop is open Monday thru Saturday from 10a.m. to 6 p.m. The Howell family also sales their lavender goods at local farmers markets in Driggs and Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
