A series of rain and snow storms are moving into the region starting late Thursday and early Friday. This is a deep plume of Pacific moisture, which will come in waves from the west coast.

The first wave of heavy rain will hit Friday for Eastern Idaho. Snow levels for this first wave will be about 8,000 feet. Most of the heavy snowfall is expected to hit the Sawthooths and the Sun Valley area.

Just a few scattered showers for Saturday, with the second wave of heavy rain and snow arriving late Saturday and early Sunday. Snow levels for this second wave will drop down to around 7,000 feet.

Most of the heavy precipitation will end by late Monday. However, with the rain ending, strong winds will follow for the entire region.
