Idaho Falls launches Independence Day survey

The city of Idaho Falls has launched a survey to find out what the community thinks about Independence Day events.

Last month, the city announced the “Melaleuca Freedom Celebration” would be changing venues. The fireworks program has been located on the west side of the Snake River.

Other events include the FireKracker 5K Fun Run, the Independence Day Parade, and the Liberty Festival on the Falls.

The city is initially looking at two potential sites for the fireworks portion of the celebration.

The first is a site just east of the Sandy Downs race track.

A second fireworks launch site is located between Pancheri Drive and Sunnyside Road, on the west side of the Snake River and just east of the large pond at Snake River Landing.

The survey (available here) can be completed online. Public comments will be accepted until December 1.

The Idaho Falls City Council will review results of the survey and discuss options December 12.
