Sisters play role of sisters on stage

Sometimes a certain talent runs in the whole family. That’s evident in Bonneville High School’s production of “Little Women”.

Several children in the Walton family are in the show. Two of the sisters in real-life play sisters in the show.

The roles of sisters Jo and Beth are played by Michaila and Kaitlyn Walton. It’s a special experience for these sisters.

It’s an opportunity that not many people get — to act with your best friend, who just happens to be your sister.” Michaila said.

“At some times the show does get a little emotional, and it’s really easy to get into that mindset since we have that connection,” Kaitlyn said.

For director Shaun Nichols having real sisters play sisters is a dream come true.

“That real life, genuine chemistry they can share,” Nichols said. “They understand similar pathways in their head, and they get that emotion and that conflict that drives them.”

The sister’s father has been active in drama and it rubbed off on them.

“We’ll do little skits at home where we’ll do news broadcasts just for fun as a family,” Michaila said.

“When we all love something together, it’s something that brings us together, so we can be more of a family,” Kaitlyn said.

“Little Women” continues November 10 and 11 at 7:30 at Bonneville High School. Tickets are available at the door.
