New hearing finally set for Joshua Holt

Joshua Holt finally has a new hearing scheduled. His new date is set for Dec. 6. His mom Laurie said this is likely the last chance this year to get Josh released or the case dismissed.

Josh has been in a Venezuelan jail since June 30 on suspicion of being a U.S. terrorist.

At Josh’s first two hearings, the judge was a no-show. Then at his third hearing on Nov. 8, the judge showed but the hearing was delayed.

We are also learning additional information about the case. Currently, some people in Venezuela called “Popular Will” are trying to help free political prisoners, including Josh. The people are calling to restore constitutional order and they believe freeing prisoners will help with that.

According to the Venezuelan press, there are about 100 political prisoners in Venezuela. So far, no progress has been made on freeing any prisoners.
