Elm Street to close for repairs Thursday morning

Elm Street in Idaho Falls will be closed Thursday morning for repairs at the railroad crossing immediately east of Broadway and Yellowstone Ave.

Elm will be closed for traffic from Yellowstone to Eastern Avenue starting at 9 a.m. Thursday morning. Union Pacific will be replacing the crossing panels in the railroad crossing at that time.

Drivers should plan alternate routes such as the railroad crossing at Cliff Street & Yellowstone Avenue, “D” Street & Yellowstone Avenue or Pancheri Drive & 17th Street.

The roadway is anticipated to reopen before noon Thursday.

Please watch for equipment and workers, follow all traffic signs and flaggers, and reduce speeds to posted limits.
