Idaho Falls City Council to vote on changes to snow removal operations
The Idaho Falls Public Works Department is waiting in anticipation of tomorrow’s snowfall as the City Council prepares to vote on changes to the way snow is removed from city streets.
According to the public works director, some of those changes would end the practice of pushing snow to the center of the main roads and having it picked up later. Instead, the snow would be pushed onto landscaped areas on the sides of the road.
The city says the change will allow them to be able to plow residential areas more often.
A city spokeswoman said if tomorrow’s snow starts falling before the council makes the change, existing procedures will be used.
