A quiet cold Wednesday morning before our next significant winter storm arrives. Periods of snow expected by Wednesday afternoon and Thursday. ***Winter Weather Advisory*** 2-4″ of new snow for the Snake River Plain by Thursday evening. Mountain locations could see over 8″, east of the Snake River Plain Tonight, some passing clouds but generally clear with bitter cold temps as lows fall into the single digits and teens with some mountain valleys dropping below zero. Wednesday, starting out somewhat clear with increasing clouds after sunrise as a storm moves in from the south. Count on periods of snow with a few valley locations switching over to rain overnight as relatively warm air moves in. Highs in the 20’s and 30’s. Chance of snow 80%. Thursday, snow changing to rain throughout the morning and afternoon for the Snake River Plain with heavy snow expected into the high country. Highs warming into the 30’s and 40’s with a southwest wind from 10-20mph.
