Fire put out quickly at Hell’s Half Acre rest area
The restrooms at the Hells Half Acre rest stop is closed following a fire in the furnace room.
Someone spotted smoke coming from the room and put the fire out before fire crews arrived, the Shelley-Firth Fire chief said.
They still don’t know what caused the fire.
A maintenance worker at the rest stop said the rest area will be closed temporarily until it is cleaned up.
No one was injured in the fire.
The rest area is located on the southbound lanes of Interstate 15 between Shelley and Blackfoot.
