Two students get extreme bedroom makeover from their school

A couple of students from Ridge Crest Elementary got an extreme bedroom makeover courtesy of the teachers, volunteers and other staff at their school.

Two brothers, Hector and Luis shared a tiny room and a single mattress prior to the makeover.

This is the second year the school has done a project like this for students who need some help at home.

Crews came in, and in the fashion of Extreme Home Makeover, the bedroom was completely stripped down, the floor was redone and the walls were rebuilt. Then the team brought in bunk beds to replace the single mattress.

The boys were excited to get the makeover and have the support of their school.

“What happens in the classroom matters, but what matters at home matters too,” says Randy Martineau, principal at Ridge Crest Elementary. “Anything we can do to help, Ridge Crest Elementary is going to step up and do it.”

Volunteers also worked on a room makeover project for boys one-year-old brother.
