Detailed Forecast for Dec. 19, 2016
After this morning our temperatures will finally be on the upswing as our next round of snow heads our way for Tuesday. Drier pattern sets up for the middle of the week with another winter storm moving in for the Christmas weekend.
Monday, partly cloudy with increasing clouds in the afternoon as a storm moves in from the NW. Dangerously COLD wind chills in the morning. Light snow showers will start in the central mountains around noon, and then spread along the continental divide in the afternoon. The northern plain could see a few snow flurries, but they won’t see much. Daytime temperatures will be relatively warmer with highs in the teens and low 20’s.
Tonight, overcast with temps staying steady near 10°. Slight chance of some snow flurries.
Tuesday, cloudy skies with on-and-off snow showers. Most areas will see just snow, but Pocatello and lower along the Snake River will see afternoon rain mixing in. Highs much warmer, topping out in the upper 20’s and 30’s.
Wednesday, partly cloudy to mostly clear with just a few AM snow showers in western Wyoming. Highs will be mainly in the 20’s and low 30’s. Note: As Wednesday is the Winter Solstice, winter officially starts today. That also means the days will slowly grow longer from here!
