Warmup to bring 2-4 inches of snow
The Snake River Plain is under a winter weather advisory until 9 p.m Thursday. Forecasters predict about 2-4 inches of new snowfall for Eastern Idaho by this weekend. Meteorologist Chris Bruin said the worst time on the roads will be between Thursday and Friday, with snow and freezing rain covering roads and highways.
It was slow going for local commuters Thursday morning in Rexburg, with rising temperatures bringing inches of snow.
Treagan Fullmer said he was surprised to wake up to see snow on the ground. He said he wasn’t expecting new snow.
“When I got out to my vehicle, there was inches of snow on top of it, so it took me awhile to clean off my car. I’ve seen a few people stuck in the middle of the road and a of couple slid-offs,” Fullmer said.
Mark Fransen said this winter has been an average Idaho winter.
“It’s always an inconvenience to have new snow because you wind up having to plow all the snow and find places to put it, or your car may get stuck in it,” Fransen said.
