Students compete in 27th annual Idaho National Laboratory Science Bowl

When energy flows from a producer to a consumer and then to a decomposers this is known as? Answer: food chain. Dozens of high school and middle school students from across southeastern Idaho competed at the 27th annual Science Bowl.

The event is sponsored by the Idaho National Laboratory and the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Science. Teams of students will buzzed in to answer questions about math and science and competed to advance their teams to the final round. The top two teams from each division will advance to the six-team Champion of Champions competition.

This is the third year that middle school students will compete.

The winning teams will earn the right to represent the region at the U.S. Department of Energy National Science Bowl. Teams from across the nation will also be competing in the NSB finals April 27-May 1 in Washington, D.C.

The event was launched in 1991 to encourage students to excel in science and math careers.
