UPDATE: Blackfoot man charged with murder, bond set at $1 million
UPDATE: Jesus Adan Castillo has been charged with 1st-degree murder. His bond is set at one million dollars. Blackfoot Police arrested Jesus Adan Castillo, 22, of Blackfoot Friday on charges of felony aggravated battery and felony injury to a child. Police said they were called to a home in the 1600 block of Camas Street at around 4 a.m. Thursday. They assisted an ambulance call for an unresponsive child under the age of 2. They said the child was transported to Bingham Memorial Hospital in critical condition, then later transferred to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. According to the Bingham County criminal complaint, the child was an 18-month-old boy who sustained head and abdominal injuries. It was unclear if Castillo was the child’s natural father. Bingham County detectives and Blackfoot police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident. No further information has been released. Castillo is being held in the Bingham County Jail.
