Stolen sculpture returned to Town Hall

A sculpture of two deer were left on the front lawn of Jackson Town Hall Saturday. The deer had been reported missing from the former Walgreens property sometime between March 18th and 19th. The sculpture was created by local artist Ben Roth with a value of at least $20,000. The theft was part of an active investigation. Town Manager Bob McClaurin noticed the sculpture on the front lawn at around 11 a.m. Saturday. The Town recently reached an agreement with Walgreens that transferred control of the property, included the sculpture, to the Town of Jackson. The deer were unharmed and are awaiting relocation. The town has not decided where the deer will end up, but one possibility is in front of a new pump station along Broadway.
