Pocatello Free Clinic awarded $3,000 grant

The Susan G. Komen Foundation has announced a $3,000 grant to the Pocatello Free Clinic. The funds will be used by the clinic’s Healthy Breast Initiative to improve access to quality care for uninsured and under-insured women. The grant will help reduce financial barriers that hinder access to care. The Idaho-Montana Affiliate of Susan G. Komen awarded $120,000 to 16 programs in Idaho and Montana. “To meet the needs of our community, this year’s grant slate specifically addresses screening and diagnostic services and patient assistance,” said Jodi Weak, Executive Director of the Idaho-Montana Affiliate. The Komen Idaho-Montana Affiliate works with local health care professionals and community leaders to conduct a comprehensive community needs assessment. This community profile, a standard practice of all Komen Affiliates, is then used to establish a local grant application and review process consistent with the organization’s standards and mission.
