New soda shop makes a big splash in Idaho Falls
A new sweet spot just opened in Idaho Falls. Soda Tsunami had its grand opening Saturday and its debut is making quite a splash. It’s a new sweet way to enjoy something sweet.
“This is a new idea for Idaho Falls, particularly. There are other places like it that are just drive-throughs and shacks and stuff like that. We actually have a place that you can come in and hang out and do those kinds of things, and then also we also have the drive-through option available,” owner John Rosenberg said.
Kids ran to the door and a line formed early in the morning with people excited to take a sip of something from the menu.
“We have all different brands — all fountain sodas. We make it to order. We have hundreds of options of how you can do them, and thousands of ways you can do different sodas,” Rosenberg said.
Flavors like Volcano, Mount Razzle Dazzle and Citrus Tsunami. The soda shop also serves coffee, tea, and pastry items for the folks who might not feel as adventurous.
“We’re just hoping to get a lot of business and a lot of traffic and just the word of mouth is awesome and we’re just trying to create a fun environment. You know, a place for people to come and hang out and not be around all the bad stuff that’s happening in life, you know?” Rosenberg said.
The drive-through opens at 7 a.m. during the week and 9 a.m. on the weekends. The inside cafe portion opens 10:30 a.m., and closes at 8 p.m. on weekdays and 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
