Idaho Falls Zoo will open Saturday, April 15 at 9:00 a.m. for the 2017 season. The stork has made several new deliveries to the zoo just in time for opening day, including a male sloth bear cub, four new wallaby joeys and a male Bactrian camel calf.

The zoo family was excited to welcome a male camel calf to the family born on March 6. He is with his parents in the camel exhibit and is doing well. His mother, Zazu, is especially proud of him!

While you’re at the zoo, be sure to spend some time at the Asian sloth bear exhibit to watch the antics of the five month-old cub, especially when he rides on his mother’s back which is an endearing trait unique to sloth bears. “Guests will have a great time watching his playful antics as his mother, Priya, patiently educates him in the ways of being a sloth bear,” states Curator of Education, Sunny Katseanes.

Also new to the zoo this year are brightly colored animal information signs uniquely designed for each species in the zoo. The signs feature a fresh, easy-to-read format that includes fun facts and the international conservation status of the animal species.

Make the most of this season and enjoy benefits and discounts at over 200 zoos and aquariums across the country by getting a zoo membership. For more information, visit www.tpzs.info.
We are so excited to see you all at the zoo starting April 15!
