Local organ recipients talk about importance of organ donors

April is National Donate Life Month. Because of that, we spoke with two organ recipients in Pocatello to ask them just how important organ donors are.

Sarah Brown, who is a heart recipient said without her heart donor, she would not have been able to experience everyday things, like going to college or even getting engaged.

Mark Bowman, a 5th grade teacher in Pocatello said before his kidney donation, he would have to do dialysis in between classes.

Both of them were grateful to the people who registered to become organ donors. They said even though it is sad that someone passed away, those organ donors were able to give other people a second chance at life.
