Janice McGeachin announces her run for Idaho Lt. Gov.
An Idaho Falls businesswoman has officially punched her ticket in the race to be Idaho’s next lieutenant governor. Janice McGeachin is a republican who lives in Idaho Falls. She made her official announcement Wednesday at a press conference in the city.
One of her slogans is “more productivity, less nonsense” — that plays into her advocacy for building more jobs in the state.
“I actually have the experience of going out and actually creating jobs. So when I came home from the Legislature and started up the restaurant, we created 20 new jobs. A lot of people talk about what you need to do to create new jobs here and there — I actually did it. And I know what it takes, the perseverance, the discipline, the accountability,” McGeachin said.
Other candidates include Republican state Rep. Kelley Packer of McCammon, Republican state Sen. Marv Hagedorn of Meridian, and Republican Steve Pankey of Twin Falls.
